Title: I am so ashamed...
Post by: Thunder Chicken on September 24, 2010, 09:36:20 PM
I saw a Honda CRZ today, and I'm ashamed to admit it, I actually liked the looks of it. It looks quite sporty. And it's the only hybrid with a manual tranny. I'd love to have one for my 120 mile daily round-trip commute...

*dons flame suit* :flame:

I'll be nice, and say that it probably gets very nice mileage... ;):punchballs:

Carmen, sit down, place a damp rag on your forehead, get a cold glass of water and a Fox. It'll be alright. Maybe it's a form of withdrawals.

At least you admitted it...that's the first step to recovery.LOL.

I was driving by the local Honda dealer a few weeks ago. I looked over at the cars parked on the front row and saw a cool looking car ....but, I thought to myself, "dang, when did Ford make a Taurus wagon?"

Turns out, it was a Honda Accord Crosstour (http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-crosstour/) :shakehead

It's a shame automakers don't make a car that has its own character, anymore. One used to be able to tell a Ford from a Chevy from a Nissan from a Pentastar from a Honda from a Toyota. Not anymore :(

For a Hybrid, it is definitely one of the better looking ones. The Volt is my favorite looking car out of the group. But the mileage doesn't seem to be that much better than the Mini Cooper S.

my buddy went to the local honda dealer last week to look at one and he was practically humping it. hes wanted it when he saw the one at the carshow around here some months ago. the salesmen would not give him a brochure and refused to let him sit in it since they just got it but he didnt care. i fear if he can swing the dough for it he may get one.
then he asked me what "I" thought of it....
after the initial shock of informing him that homoshaguality is widely accepted in todays world and i would not cast him aside for making a proud statment to that by purchasing this car he had the nerve to get offended and walked away. what a jerk :toilet:
also i think it looks like the insight but smaller which is also ugly.

Hmmm.

In my thinking, Vinnie, you are close.

Sit down.
Place a damp rag on your forehead.
Pour a Bicardi.
Get a fox.

But yeah, you were very close.

Nope, no crisis. Didn't say I was gonna buy one, I just said I liked the looks of it :hick: Although now that I think of it, I guess $100/week in gas to commute back and forth to work is a bit of a crisis...

it's only a crisis when you're worried about gas mileage rather than power :hick:

Im by no means a honda guy but I have to stick up for the (stock) CRX. Theyre awesome at what they were made for.

Lets see you get 50-60 MPG out of a fox bird or cougar.

How about my festiva? Its loud and obnoxious. Would you ever suspect it of being a low-13 second car, or would you just call it a rice burner? Hmm, it will wipe the floor with my turbo coupe any day. In fact the only thing the tbird does better is be comfortable. Hell even my gf's stock automatic festiva will wipe the floor with a v6 bird/coug.

Dont hate the small car just cause you have a big car.

crx's don't get that kind of gas mileage.. unless you're talking about the new 1

as for a festiva, that would be the ultimate sleeper project for an SC or smallblock swap :D

My car has nothing to do with hating the small car , I hate them for reasons all their own . :rollin:

But the CRX and Festiva were never  marketed to my demographic ,so while  I'm sure  they are great for what they were made for , what they were made for is not something I have ever wanted . I imagine that is why not everyone drives the same thing :D

And for the record I don't consider my Bird a "big "car :D

They dont?

http://ecomodder.com/forum/emgarage.php?make=&model=crx&year=

Several people there beg to differ with you. I used to average 47-48 mpg in my festiva so a car with far superior aerodynamics should be able to do better. The Civic VX is also another 50+ mpg honda. Not to mention the original Insight, 70+ mpg is common with that car.

Ill also pass on ruining my car with a V8. With the higher compression block, slightly bigger turbo, and a better intercooler setup along with traction I should see 12's out of it. Oh yeah it still manages 40 mpg.

Go for it. Were you thinking front engine rear drive? Theres a rear engine front drive one on youtube thats apparently a reverse donut machine. Of course most people that do big engine swaps into them do mid-rear.

Not so much a Festy thing, but over on the Escort forum, there's a few 1st-gen owners that have swapped in 2.3t engines into their cars. front engine/front drive.

Since I have an '87 EGT, I've always wanted to do that, instead of the much more common v6 swap.

I'd definitely keep your Fest' in a 4 holer, turbo setup...the look on the faces of the owners of older Camaro (think the '80/90's) as you pull on 'em has gotta be a priceless sight, lol

Now I've heard of a Lima going into a tempo...but NEVER an escort...gonna have to look that up. That's nuts.

IIRC, they used the front-drive block, the tempo 5 speed, and had to move the started to the front of the engine..other than that, it seemed fairly simple...of course, I wasn't there to witness, and I'm not at all a fabricator..so who knows for sure w/o reading the firsthand words of those who did do it. :D
