Title: Turbo Coupe clutch slippage. Looking for new clutch
Post by: cadillacmob on September 11, 2010, 11:27:18 PM
I have a 88 turbo coupe And it's clutch is starting to slip on 4th and 5th gears.      My question you everyone is do I put the stock clutch in again or should I go performance with a center force? And cam we even get a center force one for out cars?
On my 5.0 Mustang I put a dual friction center force on and I'm very pleased with it.
Do we use 5.0 parts?

Unless you have all kinds of power, and don't gun it at all until 4th gear, I think you might have another issue. Hydraulic clutch, or the cable kind?

Haystack, a worn out clutch will slip in the top gears under any acceleration.

I have over 40k on my zoom Kevlar clutch from Napa. It still grabs like mad. It was around $300 for the kit though.
