I was once told that they used as many as three cars per show ---- keeping one that was almost show quality for close-up stuff and others that got tore up.

But yeah, I want the good one from the show.

There's nothin' like hood slidin' like Bo Duke.

Great show.

The "official" total is between 315 and 330 chargers destroyed in the series run :punchballs:

Hey guys I'm finding this post a little late, but I have to admit I watched some of the episodes! I also have a few of the full seasons on DVD so I can watch them whenever!! What can I say, I grew up on it!!!

Which leads me to my next statement: (Ready? this is 100% true too!!)

I have driven one of the original studio cars used on the set of The Dukes Of Hazzard! I've also met Catherine Bach-Daisy!, John Schneider-Bo, Sonny Shroyer-Enos, James Best-Roscoe, and Ben Jones-Cooter. I work part time for a company that owns and shows TV and movie cars and we had them all as guests at one of our shows. It was amazing knowing that I grew up idolizing these people and now I was hanging out with them! We even took John Schneider out to dinner at a local restaurant and had a very good time. He's a very down to Earth guy who felt he was really blessed knowing there was so much interest in the show after all these years.

Not bragging here, but I've also toured with the Batmobile from the '89 movie with Michael Keaton, an original KITT Trans Am from Knight Rider series (studio car number 2) and just last year a Shelby Mustang from the short-lived Knight Rider comeback series. It still amazes me that I used to sit and watch these cars and people on TV as a child and now I'm around them at the shows!!

I've been lucky, it's amazing what being into cars can lead to.

Ray , I am truly Jealous :D

Way back when the show was still on I met Sorrell Booke at a World Of Wheels show and got his autograph (still hangs in my buddies garage).
I met Sonny Shroyer  at Cooters place in Gatlinburg TN in 2004
Had my picture taken with him and got his autograph .
He was tremendously nice ....and REALLY tall ;)

hypostang....thats really cool that you got to meet Boss Hogg!! I never met him or Uncle Jesse sadly..wish I could have!

And yes, Sonny IS tall, I was kind of surprised by that myself! What I really liked was the fact he was genuine and thrilled to still be recognized.....his real self is actually alot like his on screen persona.....happy!

As I said before, It's amazing to me to this day that I have got to do some of the things I've done just by being into cars and having the right connections!!

Fixed it for you ;)

I remember seeing the original Batmobile a number of times, when I was little. When I was 5, I got to meet Sorrell Brooke (Boss Hogg), Catherine Bach (Daisy Duke), and got my picture taken with Boss & with the General Lee. I was young, at the time, and didn't know what Daisy Duke would mean to me, now :(

Here's another side story ...

When we were living in Pennsylvania, there was an ad in the news paper stating the Batmobile was going to be at one of the local malls. I think this was '89 or '90. Anyway ...I got happier than a pig in slop and begged my Mom to take me. Well, we go and ....drum roll, please ....

it was the Michael Keaton Batmobile. Man, I was bummed :(

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I've been bugging the sh*t out of my wife to get me a Dukes of Hazzard horn for the pick 'em up truck for either Christmas or my birthday :)

Hey Scott D.....you didn't FIX anything. I toured the 1989 MOVIE car that stared Michael Keaton. I have never nor will I ever work for George Barris (the original Batmobile...with Adam West....designer) This is my girlfriend and I in 2009 in Louisville with studio car number 2, it was the one actual car that shot the flames out of the back as it drove away. The second pic is of the two Knight Rider cars we hauled too.

As far as your disapointment with it not being the 60's TV Batmobile, it's ironic that you said it was in a mall in Pennsylvania as I know for a fact that would've been a good friend of mine who was hauling it then who got me into the business.

Yeah, we all laughed about that too. It was one of Mr Casper's custom creations and since he own's both the cars AND this show, they were parked together!! LOL

This Batmobile was alot of fun to haul around and transport....some of the weirdest people would drive for hours on end just to stand around and take pic's of it. I could fill pages with true stories of the questions I was asked, not to mention the bribe's I was offered to let people sit in it (or worse...but it's a family show!). Always an iteresting time no matter what type of show it was at!
