Has anyone here ever done a high-compression naturally aspirated 2.3L? I have a couple 2.3 Turbo Blocks laying around. As a project, I thought it would be neat to make a high-strung 4 pot out of one of them, but keep it Naturally Aspirated. I would probably drop it in a Jeep or Ranger. What do you think?
yep, done quite often, check up in some "mini-stock" race fourms
not enough diffreance between a NA and turbo block
I had a 13:1 comp 2.3 I ran on the street, .532 lift cam, 390 CFM dubbl pumper holley
WOW! that sounded like a mean little 2.3! What did you have that in? How much power would a max effort 2.3 make N/A?
on and off ive been picking at info here and there reguarding this type of thing, been wanting to build a 2.3 na for years but caught between the volvo head swap and a dirt stock build high compression (but nothing i see is fuel injected). not likely going to be able to do both and neither is going to make a good daily, which is probly what i would do with it. for what people are doing with stock na blocks(with some miles) unless i already had a turbo block i wouldnt bother seeking one out for this.
someday ... :burnout:
ohhhh it was in a 1985 Ranger, the butt dyno syas it was about 225 hp
I still have some of the parts laying around if you would be intrested in them
bogusSVO, what parts do you still have?
i am trying to find a 2.3 5 speed mustang coupe for a daily driver, but i cant leave anything stock...
