Post by: Eliminator on August 18, 2010, 02:51:01 PM
Pulled a code 34. Replaced the EGR valve and the Position sensor. Says High output, valve closed. Vacuum leak maybe? Please advise

Check the vacuum lines going to the dpfe sensor. The slightest crack in the lines will throw a code. What vehicle is this?

Most of the time when I get this code its usually the dpfe sensor and not the egr. I just changed this on my explorer and a vacuum line had a slit in it. I have never run into this problem on an OBD I vehicle. Just make sure you clear the codes after all the parts are changed or repaired(you already know this) Sorry I couldn't be more helpful-maybe someone else will chime in.
