I found an 8.8 Aluminum Differential from a 93 Mark VIII. I also have an entire rear end from a 97 Ford Ranger with the 8.8 and 4.10's.... Looking for input, thanks guys.
So are you asking if you should try and make the swap to an IRS from the Mark VIII or go with the Ranger rear end?
From what I can remember the MN12 platform Birds and the Mark VIII's were very similar but nothing like the Fox platforms. I don't think the IRS from the Mark VIII would not be a bolt in but an IRS from a SN95 Cobra might be easier as they will go in a Fox Mustang.
I would go here and download the spread sheet to see if that Ranger rear end will work in your car:

The Ranger rear would be set up for leaf springs and wouldn't have the necessary brackets to mount your coil spring/control arm setup. The Mark VIII rear is independent, and as aerocoupe said, would not be a bolt in proposition. You'd have to fabricate an entire rear subframe.
Also the ranger rear has an offset pinion
Thanks guys!!!!
