Title: TC hood
Post by: capitlj on May 04, 2005, 10:10:20 PM
Ive got a turbo coupe hood on lockdown how do i duct it for my 5.0 can i reuse the airbox from the TC i dont think it will fit.  But i dont want the  hood if the scoops are useless my whole reasoning behind it is for the cooler charge temp and the ram air part of it.

TC hoods are ducted for an intercooler not for the air box. You will have to find a way to run it to the air box if that is what you are wanting.

you might be able to make a box near your tb for it sence thats where the intercooler sits anyway. then use a pannle filter their.

thats what i was thinking manson but i think i would have to extend the ducting farther to clear the 5.0 tb but that would be one short freaking intake lol.  Sidebar that airbox in the TC is an intercooler??

intercooler sits on that side of the engine compartment, the scoop seals against it, and blows air over it

Mounting a filter/airbox in that location and trying to use the scoops as a ram air inlet or the like is just a good way to be sure to suck up a bunch of water into the engine when it rains......If you route some ducting back over near the stock location you can at least allow for some drainage..

I thought that I remembered someone long ago saying that there was major issuses with the 5.0 and the ducting?  I have one on my 5.0, but no duct work.
