I ordered a 2011 Mustang GT today (non-leather) with 3.73 gears, manual, and Brembo brakes. I decided to go with the Yellow Blaze Metallic Tri-Coat color and I think I will have a large center stripe painted on; kind of like the 1970 Mach 1 or Boss 302. Now I just have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for it to come in.
I'm pretty excited.

I am not a big fan of yellow. I don't like any yellow that looks like a lemon or school bus yellow. If that yellow looks as good as the picture indicates then it's not bad at all. Perhaps because it looks like a few shades lighter than Grabber Orange. I always liked the Grabber Orange and that color was among my top picks when I went Mustang shopping.
Anyway, you cannot go wrong with black stripes on a vivid color like Blaze Yellow.
As much as I used to really love over the roof stripes, they seem so cliche' now and too common of a sight. I like the Boss 302 black stripes and accent look. Someone did up a Grabber Blue just right...

they kinda announced that on the 13th the customer spec Boss302 will be revealed! Im ordering my Mustang with the manual, 3.73, brembos and the glass roof in either Kona Blue or performance white :)
Over the top stripes would not look good with a glass roof ;)
The blue one does look very nice! except I would like to have more of the hood black, all the way to the front.
I have been pricing painted stripes and maybe it won't happen? I have been getting bids from $2,000 to $3,500 and I just don't know if this is worth it? I do like the over the top center. But on the side stripe I was think to start it right below the 5.0 and go down and back, like the race car above.

The boss is a very cool car. Looks like the shaker hood scoop really works.
I found a company that will sell me the over the top stripes in 3M tape for $150 plus shipping. I'm working with them to see if they can make me the side stripes like the one on the blue boss Mustang. Only they will start right below the 5.0 go down and back. I know that tape is not as good or as cool but the price is right and I can change my mind if I do not like it.
The yellow is kind of a gamble since I have not seen one in person yet. I guess it is a color changing color depending on the light and angle. I will go from bright yellow to gold to orange. The Fiesta already have this color there there are none near me. Every picture I see of them look to be a different color. I hope my gamble pays off.

This is the Boss Mustang you can buy for $79,000 but I think they are all sold. They only made 50 of them and they are off-road only. I wonder how collectible they would be in 30 years?
I really do not like how many times they put Boss 302 on the thing. Both front fenders, both mirrors and on the back.
I really like the side stripes and I hope mine look a lot like this. My thought is that they will start right below the 5.0 fender badge and go down and back the same way.

I paid dealer invoice plus; $850 destination charge, $486 advert adjustment (don't know what this is but they would not budge on it), and $46 for gas (told me this is what Ford charges them for the gas in the tank but they said it will be topped off when I drive it away).
So yes you should just be able to go to Edmunds and find out what dealer invoice is and pay this amount. Most dealers wanted $200 over invoice but I did get this part dropped. Still thousands less than sticker price.
They want $1,000 down to order it but they said they would not cash the check till the day of the deal. Don't really know why this is so, I would have cared less if they cashed it right away or not.
I saw a Fiesta today in the yellow blaze color and really liked it; going to have a very nice looking Mustang.
The only problem is that it 5 to 8 weeks and I think about it every day.

That's great cause the one I want is 39k, but dealer invoice is ~34k, which I can probably swing - especially given 5 - 8 weeks time to get my act together. Thanks for the info - it will make my negotiations a lot easier knowing this.
This makes me sad that my '07 is only 300 hp. Seemed impressive at the time, but now I feel like I own a V6 model. I've found myself researching NOS kits on the internet lately so I can up the ante a little.
I still don't like the styling quite as much as the '05-09's but they are growing on me.
I love the styling, except for the rear bumper area.............. what were they thinking/drinking? lol

They raised the rev limit to 7,500 rpm so they must think the engine is plenty strong. The quad exhaust is interesting. I really do not like the side stripes on this one.

Oh yeah, I notice it says Boss 302. I have not paid attention to the actual CID of the new 5.0 and I wonder if it is actually 302 CID or not.
I agree the paint is over the top, even the top is red.
Just notice that there is no back seat and it has a weird cross bar back there. If they are going to take out the back seat at least they can do is put a legal roll bar in it.

Yes it is 302 CID and it is actually 5.0L rather than our 302 which is really 4.9L (if I knew the displacement in cc's I could show this a little better)
