Title: Fuel Pump Question...
Post by: Watchdevil on August 06, 2010, 09:26:13 AM
A couple of days ago I realized that I have a fuel pump that quits working sometimes. Of course with the 84 TBI V8 I have the dual fuel pump setup internal and external. I have not determined just yet which pump is failing. All I know is that the pump I hear when it is working properly make a loud girgling sound when it is priming when I first turn the key before strting it. When I have a failure, all I hear is a quieter priming that sounds normal like most vehicles sound with a single in-tank pump.

Is it is really necessary to have two pumps like this or can this be converted so that it runs off only one pump and run correctly?
