Title: Question for Vinnie
Post by: Slinky on August 03, 2010, 03:14:02 PM
I've been looking around trying to get ideas on what type of after market rims I would like to put on my 88 Cougar. I like the rims that are pictured on your green T'Bird. What brand name and model are they?

17x9 and 17x10.5......very nice wheels. I bought mine with the tires. You can tell them what size tires you want. I have 255 40 17's up front and 275 40 17's out back. They came with lug nuts, caps, metal air valve caps and already aired up.Awesome people to deal with.

That's also a killer price for wheels and tires, shipped to your door.

They fit perfectly,no rubbing or any issues at all.I did have to remove the factory quad shocks, but that was no big deal since I installed the CHE control arms.

O.K. how do you do that? I don't know what CHE control arms are.

They are aftermarket tubular control arms. You don't have to have them. For that set of wheels, simple remove your current wheels and install the new ones and drive the car.If you have quad shocks, you'll need to remove them as the 10 inch wheels are too wide for them in the back.Without the quad shocks, they fit great. The regular shocks are not a problem. The quads fit from the fame to the axle and run front to back. The regular shocks go from the axle to the trunk.
