Title: 88 Sport Seat Question
Post by: no911forme on August 02, 2010, 02:14:26 PM
I'm redoing the interior in my 88 Sport and was wondering if the Sport Seat cloth kits sold for Mustangs, fit my bird.
I know the back seats wont work but what about the fronts??

If someone has a better idea please chime in... my seats are grey now faded to blue.. :punchballs:

Yes,the fronts will fit.Same seats,different covers.I was going to get Stang covers,but for $150.00 more,the shop will re-cover my seats,front and back,and re-do the foam.

Right. Our seats have the seat belt guides on them.If I were having my seats re-covered (which I will eventually),I may leave them off or connect them to the headrest so i won't have holes in my seats.

I'm going to leave them off for sure... to be honest, I don't wear seatbelts while driving anyway.. :shoothead I know

Here you would be forking over your paychecks to the county:hick:

They changed the law to allow them to stop you for only not wearing your belt :punchballs:

I actually do wear my seat belt.I never put a lot of thought into it,then, one day I had this "adult" thought....What if I DID have a wreck (it can be anyone's fault),and something bad happened, what would my family do without me? Takes a second to click, and can make all the world of difference just in case. But,I have a wife and kids, and want to be around them for a LONG time.

I always wear mine , I believe it saved my life in the wreck that killed my wife , even though she was wearing hers too .

I understand, that even with a seat belt on,one can lose a life, but,I also believe that the chances of survival are a lot greater with that little buckle clicked.

I developed a habit long ago to wear my seatbelts and now strapping myself in is like flushing the toilet and not giving it much thought that I did it. It's not worth the risk to go without a belt. I feel nekid without being strapped in. There have been times I have hopped into a car with someone who did not click themselves in and I am like what are you thinking by not doing so.

So,are you ordering covers or having them re-covered?Either way, replace,or beef up the foam. After all these years, they are more worn than you may realize.

I'll be replacing the foam and covers... going to order the Mustang set. My buddy has a 93 Cobra and his back seat is stained. so we will be splitting the kit and the cost...

If you do a little digging, I posted a link to a place that does replacement Turbo Coupe upholstery. The link itself is on my laptop, which is currently DOA, so I don't have it to post again, but it's here somewhere.

Shiny Side Up!
