Title: W I D E S T tire for a Polycast?

I know its dumb but what the widest tire (with in reason) we can put on a Polycast 14 x 5.5" rim?

225/?/14 or 235/60/14

I would not go much more than 205 with 5.5 inch rims.  205 are about 7.6 inches wide and 225 are more like 8.5.  The 225 on the Mustang were mounted on 7 inch wide wheels (10 holes).  :2c:

I ran some 225 s on 6 inch wide wheels , so I would say a 215 would probably be as wide as I would go

I had some 225's  on them, I wouldnt go wider... personally.

I had 235/60R14's on the base 14X5.5 wheels on my first T-Bird and loved the bulging sidewall look, but they wore in the centers. I ended up installing chrome Cragar 14X6.5's...

Yeah I looked at the 205's that are on it and the look scarey fat. I was thinking on 215's but wasnt sure. Thinking back though I think one of my Cougars had 215s on it. But thanx guys for the input
