Title: Anyone Have PDF of Binder Versions of Shop Manuals
Post by: jpc647 on July 16, 2010, 09:52:51 AM
I'm looking for a PDF(copy of shop manual on the computer) or one of the shop manuals that came in a 3 ring binder for 1988. What I want to be able to do is make a PDF of the shop manauls, and post them on here, so if anyone needs one small section, they can print it out, and use it, and not have to get a shop manual covered in grease and so forth. I've got the machines do to it at work, it would jsut be easier if the pages were already lose leaf.

I know the EVTM's were scanned in by a fellow member, now It'd like to to the Shop Manuals.

Or, if anyone has a ratty old shop manual they don't want anymore, I could gladly provide you with a new crisp copied one in a binder. :) Just a thought.

I think you will run into trouble posting the content (copies) here as it's copyright material and Helm will need to give you the permission to do so.

I'm pretty sure the admins here won't let you post an entire manual for fear of the board getting shut down for legal reasons. you would have to host it, link it, an assume the responsibilities of hosting copyrighted material without permission.

Well he did say he wanted to post them here.

Don't get me wrong, helping out with the information is something that makes these communities what they are. Not everyone has access to the material or can afford the price of the material. But when you take entire books and attempt to distribute them as suggested, it could create issues. Helm still prints these books with a hefty price.
