Today I made a parts run at work and in the Chevy Colorado I was driving it has 60/40 split seats with a removable cup holder that I think will be perfect for you guys with the consolette bucket seats.
The cupholder has a large flat bracket that will bolt to the underside of the front of the consolette. The cupholder is designed so it can be removed for cleaning by pressing a release from the front underside, then it slides right off the bracket. The cup holes are very large. The bottle shown in the picture is a fat ONE LITER bottle, not the regular sized ones and that one liter bottle fits perfectly inside. The cupholder is also notched in the front to allow for cups with handles.
Anyway, I hope you guys find this info useful. If I had a consolette car I would be all over this!
Uno Mas!
BTW I am surprised how good the camera is on my phone!
Wow, I like this. Could you get width measurements by chance?
And maybe what year truck that was from... ;)
What about us full console guys? :poke:
What have you guys done?
I didn't think to get measurements when I snapped the pics but look closely. The cupholder is big enough to accommodate two 1 liter bottles with just enough structure around each side. I just measured that one liter bottle and it is 3" in diameter. So roughly 7-8" X 4" without being exact. Depth is not an issue. My former 85 Tbird had a consolette so I am sure this will be easy to adapt.
The Chevy Colorado has been produced from 2004 to present with virtually no changes. The two we have in our fleet at work is an 05 and 07. This one I took a picture of is the 05.
The mounting plate is pretty substantial. It is as large underneath as it is extending from the front of the seat so there is plenty of room for bolting to the underside of the consolette structure.
I would suggest Quickweld for plastic. Set the cup, bottle or can down on a flat surface and form the putty around it until it cures.... :rollin::rollin::rollin:
Seriously though there was a thread a while back I made a suggestion for if you do not have a floor shifter.

With the floor shifter you would have to sacrifice the bottom slot in the dash centerstack to be able to use a Taurus sliding cupholder which only accommodates the size of two aluminum cans.

SLightly off topic , but is that Colorado a Napa delivery vehicle ?
It may be for a Napa store somewhere! I am a manager for Advance.
DOH !!!! sorry bout that
I was a Federated Manager for a while :hick:
I like this. I think it deserves more looking into. I'm guessing one could get this at a local salvage yard...or perhaps even try online/dealer for brand new.
Hmmmm!
I don't allow food or drinks in the car:D
