Title: Bob log, odd exhaust leak, help needed
Post by: ProTouring442 on June 28, 2010, 09:02:30 PM
I need help on my 1988 Turbo Coupe.

I just put on my nice new Bob's Log, and I have an exhaust leak...

One the cylinder head, just below the exhaust ports, there are holes that go through to the exhaust port. The holes are about 1/2" in diameter. The log does not cover these hole sufficiently to ensure they do not leak.

I am guessing that these hole should be plugged, but how?

If I recall, I tapped mine for 5/16-18 threads and ran a bolt into it and cut if off smooth.

I tapped all four to 1/8NPT and made steel plugs for them... all is quiet now!

Apparently, the head on my car is not a Turbo Coupe head, rather it is from a N/A engine.

5/16 set screw, they will dissapere up in the hole and you will not have to grind any thing
