I have 3 -86 turbo coupes sitting here with 1&1/4" bars on them stock. It's only a 1/16 differance.  What size does a standard T bird have on them?

What method are y'all using to measure the bars ?

All my part reference catalogs dont even show 1 1/4 bars listed

1 1/8 and 1 5/16 are the only bars over 1 inch

I have listings for a  1 1/4  bar for stangs but not birds

When I put my bars on my car I bought these  bushings

 moog #k80097

I used the wrench measure method

I used a set of veiner calipers  and measured between  1.255 and 1.290
I have about 4 85-88 TC front sway bars laying around

with the enery suspention bushings and endlinks, it stiffen up the 85 alot and handles a ton better.

I see,  from what I understand 5/16 is like .30/.31ish
So I guess there is a real little difference .
Maybe I will try the energy suspension bushings

5/16 is .312

unes your dealing with valve stems, then they range from .311 to .315

I was guessing after trying to do math in my head  :hick:

I went down to my garage again today and a 1 1/4 in wrench does not fit on my bar , I'm calling it  production variances :D

poor quality pics but I think it shows what I mean

the 1 5/16 bushings will be a tad loose tho  get the I 1/4 ones  they have a bit of a crush

I tried the 1 5/16 and got a bit of a clunk,  installed the 1 1/4 and no more clunk

dont forget the matching end link kit !!
