Title: The 87 LX
Post by: crystal on June 12, 2010, 11:13:35 AM
Well the mods begin so I guess I'll just post up in here to keep it easy.

How I got it:

Step 1:

Painted em silver, leave em or blue insets to match the body? Similar to how Ethan (Fordguy545) did his (pic would be great ethan!)

I would pass on the blue and go with black.

I don't mind em, but the 14" wheels with their lack of handling have got to go. My tires shouldn't be screaming for mercy taking an exit ramp at 40 mph...

Except for that one I found in OH that says 10 mph... they weren't kidding on that one, learned that the hard way

the 10 mph turn in the middle of Cleveland? tried that one in my van at 30 mph. That was an eye opener..lol.... And a little screaming coming from my passenger seat. :rollin:

I was on my way home from the second CJ where I found it in my bird at about 40. I don't think I've found the one in Cleveland but could be. All I know is I now believe any 10 mph turns...

Wait, the really big goof turn in the middle of cleveland on 80? That's not bad in the bird or the chero, but I could see it being sketchy in a van

That's the one.... like they started making it, and ran out of room. So then they had to make a 90 deg. turn to keep going. lol

Not van friendly with about a ton of weight inside of it.

A few more "before" pics

And the wheels are staying silver. I made myself very very sick painting them that far so I'm laying off the paint for a bit...

Is it rare to have a mint non cracked one? Mine looks just like the one on your new LX.

Yeah note my front bumper... VA requires two plates but NC that's just 15mi down the road does not, I've never been stopped...

BTW I have a brand new one for the TC(yes they are different from all the other models) that I bought before they went obsolete...

New shoes. Better pics when the weathers nice!

Tom, I figured the tc's had different brackets since ther plate area is different but I've never even seen one!

I only want a front plate bracket because my kids got me a cool airbrushed front plate ;)
