You guys must be a bad influence on me. Reading all your threads about these cars has me hooked on them. Earlier today, I bought a rust-free, black, 87 Sport that has nice paint, a clean, light blue interior (WTF. I didn't know you could get a light blue interior in these cars. I thought Raven was the only blue interior color available), all the toys except power passenger seat and it doesn't have a moon roof. The thing even has 16" TC wheels on it.
I can't believe it. I paid $650 for it! It does need to have the rear main oil seal replaced, the headliner redone and a stereo installed, but I'm happy scoring this deal.
I'm not planning on posting any pictures of this thing until I get it all cleaned up. It's not a perfect car by any means, but I really like it and it's mine.
It's official. I'm now a true T-Bird collector. I've got an 88 TC/5.0 and now an 87 Sport too. I LOVE the fact that they're both black. Black Fords just do something for me.
The Sport is gonna be my daily driver and the TC/5.0 will be my toy. I'm so fired up, I don't know what to do with myself right now! :D
Congrats dude !!!!
Thanks Hypo. I'm so excited, I can almost pick up radio stations right now!
welcome aboard!
You know. After read what guys here have been saying about how much they love the way their cars drive and ride, I've been wondering if I'd be as impressed with these cars as they are. After driving my Sport home late last night (first time I've driven one of these cars), I could see why all those things were said.
Some people who know me are going to ask why I bought two of these cars. Some already have. My answer is that I have one of these cars that I'm going to use as a toy. The other I'm going to use as a daily driver. I'm so comfortable in these cars that I can't think of another car that I could buy for under $5000 that I'd enjoy more if I drove it daily. I love the leg room, comfy ride, perfect size (not too big, not too small) parts avaliability and a lot of other things about these cars.
I just hope to fix my two Birds up to be half as nice as some of the cars I see on this forum.
Congrats on the new ride...
Thanks Tom, but it's all your fault (and Vinnie's) for getting me so excited about these cars that I wound up buying two of them. :)
If you wanted to, you post post pictures on the basis of a $650 dollar purchase rather then on your definition of a perfect car....people will awe at the glory (and be very happy to see pictures, like me!). I've never seen better deals than what people on this website find....Call it the Fox's blessing.
Congrats!
Oh it's definitely not perfect. No one's going to think it is, but I really like the car. It's one hell of a lot nicer of a Bird than I ever thought I'd be able to get for $650. We'll see what you guys think when I get these pics up. You'd know much better than I would.
I'm sure others want to see what I'm so happy about. I took pictures today after I had a chance to clean the car up a little.
I won't have a chance to upload the pictures until later tonight. I had a lot to do today, so I knew it would be a while before I'd be able to post pics.
I'll be right here waiting :D
I have the pics posted in the pictures forum. Here's a link to it. http://www.foxtbirdcougarforums.com/showthread.php?p=324764&posted=1#post324764
