just wondering. ive got a chance of picking up both front and rear seats. ive got to bolt back on my tracks. my only question is what have i got to do to get the power recliner to work, and the tc seats have power lumbar so how can i hook them up to my wiring night mare:mad: thanks, dwight
the power lumbar part is wired hot at all times so that shouldnt be that hard to wire in. as far as the power recline do away with it having the leather is much better than trying to hack them up to make the power recline work with a seat that never had it.
can i just bolt these seats right to the track and still be able to use the 8 way controls? if its that simple ill pick the leather seats up.
yes you can. its pretty easy but me ready to run the controls to be able to get to all of the bolts.
I think leather is rare on these cars period. I *think* I have the only T-bird LX on here with leather. I also have power recline which is very rare.
Yours is the ONLY non TC I have ever seen with leather .
power recline I have encountered quite a few times ..(my LX has it)
I've never seen a non TC/Sport seat car with leather either (besides mine). I've only seen one other power recline car.
In the local pullapart there is an 87 lx with power recline and and a few months back they had another with them too.
Of course I worked turning wrenches at a Ford dealer from May 85 to June 92 so I saw quite a few a fox birds come through there also:D
Four(I remember two red & two blue) of the 15 '87- '88TCs I've owned had leather, either not really rare or I just hit a streak of the things...Not a option I'd want, as most were cracked all to Hell... The leather seats in the '98 Grand Marquis I recently bought is nearly perfect, but it's a garage kept car...
my old white tbird had that old red leather...... i really miss that car....
ill think ill pick them up today. ive got duel power tracks, so both will be power. there nice looking seats, only problem is the cloth on them is blue. my interior is red. maybe ill do a tread on my progress step by step. man, gonna miss the power recline though:mad:
Have you seen any LX T-birds with leather? I've seen many Turbo Coupes with leather but no LX Birds besides mine.
I can't say I remember seeing a LX with leather, I do remember seeing a stripper TC with leather... That one didn't have a driver power seat or a tape deck(thus no 157A pkg) just a radio... Guess they gave up all the other amenities to get those seats...
im going to pick up my seats today. grey and dark blue almost black. no rips or tears,just need cleaning. came from a wrecked tc with 65,000 miles. i got both the fronts and rear for $150:D might have to pick you guys brains for help. hope ya dont mind. should look pretty good in my 87 sport. thanks, dwight
