Havent hooked a gauge up to the rail yet (maybe no need) with the engine running (badly) If i push the needle on the test port in, gas comes out but with no pressure......I should be sprayed right?
I have been having all sorts of drivability issues, starting issues, idle problems. I have replaced everything except ign module and the fuel pump.......have i found my problem?:punchballs:
It could be a weak pump or a clogged up fuel filter. Does the car run normally at idle without a load on it?
everything wrong with the car did not add up. Pulled the tank and the fuel pump as a py rubber hose running from pump to outlet nipple.......cracked and split. New pump and hose installed. 30 minutes later roasted the tires off this thing! Life lesson #278- Just because your fuel pump runs doesnt mean you are getting the pressure you need.
It's possible someone used a non-submersible fuel hose. I just took care of this issue on the turbo Volvo yesterday.
If you used "std" EFI fuel hose, that's wrong too, but may last for a while. Mine had some general fuel, PCV, EEC, Emission hose on it...it was dead. I was upgrading the intank pump anyway, but made sure I used the correct Gates submersible fuel hose. Expensive .
no this was the original fuel pump setup. Being 25 years old i am glad to have replaced it
