Title: Testing the electrical system?
Post by: daminc on May 28, 2010, 09:07:10 PM
Here's a question......
Will the electrical system work for testing if I connect the battery while the engine is still at the shop? Providing that I connect the ground to the chassis. I want to check all the door and interior wiring and lights while I put the wiring back in the car.

I don't see why not.  I used jumper wires to move the seats forward and back to access the bolts for removal after the engine was disconnected.

I did too... but was wondering if I could actually test everything from the battery on? I would not connect the computer, but if all the interior wiring was connected to the battery, then in theory I could test everything with the key on and off. I would assume.

Just make sure you tape up the alternator and starter wires so they don't touch anything and short out. Otherwise you should be OK
