So last Saturday I'm online emailing a buddy some pic's and started looking on a search engine that covers all Craigslist ads (SiteMash for those interested) and typed in Thunderbird.....well.....that changed my plans for the weekend!! Long story short, after a couple phone calls, it was decided that I would be leaving Sunday morning for a small town about 6.5 hours away from Tulsa to look at a Bird!! That 6.5 hour trip ended in Creston, IA where I picked up the twin to the 84 Turbo Coupe I currently own!! I can't believe the condition its in with having 120,000+ miles, the interior is literally almost perfect and it runs and drives great. Ok, it needs a pair of rotors but otherwise it made the trip without any issues. Ok, enough of my babbling.....heres a couple pics of it for your approval!!!

BTW-The first 2 are the new Bird, the 3rd is my original one.
Oh wow, sorry about the HUGE pic up there....thought I had it scaled down....? I'll post up some better pics when I get a chance to clean the bugs off it!!
Nice score buddy!!! and your not all that far from us either.
Awesome! Now that you have two, is one going under the knife for something special while you continue to get the drive the other?
Well, for now the new one is going to be my gas mileage daily driver since the weather has straightened out......I need to do some work on my Bronco so I can drive it on the days the weather isn't so nice. The old Bird right now is stuffed in the corner of the garage, sadly I haven't driven it in about 3 years now.....I'll get around to getting it out and doing something fun with it......someday!! My original plans were to put in either an SHO motor or maybe a Super Coupe Bird V6 but who knows, maybe I'll just leave it alone? Doubtful.....but it is on the list of projects!! LOL

Wow, kinda hoping that car found a good home. Oh well.
Good score congrats !!
Hey Jangus, had you seen it on C'list? I looked on here to see if anyone had posted it in the FYI for cars but no one had....was kinda surprised someone closer to it hadn't grabbed it up right away considering his asking price!!
Last night I gave it a good once over and other than the aforementioned rotors, all I found it needs is a basic tune up. Even the oil is still clean and full after a 6.5 hour trip!!! Pretty impressive if ya ask me!!
More pictures will be added soon!!

If I had $500 more in the car budget, you wouldn't own that car. I wanted that thing REALLY bad, but it just wasn't to be. Take good care of it, it sure looked clean to me.
Great looking car. Enjoy!
-nice find
4-eyes are the bestest.
Did you drive 6.5 hours one way to buy that car just so you didn't have to change your screen name? lol.
LMAO...thats funny!! But no, my screen name really relates to my 93 LX Mustang. It was my first new car when I was 20 and currently has 3,980 original miles. The Bird just caught my eye and I figured it'd make for a fun and inexpensive daily driver.....good gas mileage, good handling etc...plus it was CHEAP!!
Trust me, it's come to a good home. It's sharing the stable with a handful of other FOX cars here, including it's twin, my 84 Turbo Bird, 86 Capri 5.0, 86 Capri GS V6, my girlfriends 84 Capri RS 5.0, two '85 Capri's-mostly parts cars, and the 93 LX I mentioned earlier.
I've talked to a buddy of mine already about looking into the A/C system, hopefully we can get it to take a decent charge...PLUS.....my girlfriend has already mentioned that my other Bird looks so much better with the tinted windows and that we "need" to get the windows on this one tinted!! WOO HOO!! Usually if it's her idea, she figures out a way to get it done!! I'll keep everyone posted on that when/if it happens!!
Sorry to Jangus for nabbing the car, but trust me......um....its not really all that nice...? It needs alot of TLC....? You wouldn't have been happy with it....? Does that help?? LOL

BTW Chuck....LOVE LOVE LOVE your Bird!! We've talked over on FEP too, I'm one of many who bugged you about a T-5 to SHO adaptor!!

So heres a quick update....
Been driving the TC daily now for about a week now and no major issues...until yesterday morning. Running down the highway I started to smell coolant...not good....but at least I was only about a mile and a half from work. Once in the parking lot, I popped the hood and all I saw was steam from the passenger side. The small connector hose under the turbo between the steel lines sprung a leak....oh yay!!
After it cooled down and I could get underneath it, I found that someone had, at some point and time, put a new hose on it...apparently with the manifold off the car because there was NO way unscrew the clamps off in a normal manner. (clamps were 180-degrees off from normal access) Thankfully I work at a machine shop and had access to some really handy tools!! After a struggle...some profound words......alot of sweat....and coolant up to my armpit, I got it repaired!! The whole time I kept thinking: "A 5.0 wouldn't have THIS issue!!!" LOL
I need to refrain from thinking of a 5.0 conversion on this car...it's supposed to be my DD/gas mileage ride!!! Oh well, so far so good with my quick repair!!

Silver could you post more pics of the bird with the cobra wheels please
