I have been completeing the last part of the 351w swap on my tbird. I have to say it has been a challenge to get all the parts in and working. I have had to disconnect alot of stuff and wire in new stuff. Then modify alot of brackets and accesories on the engine. Now I see the o2 wires are not long enough and the r/s o2 sensor is against the bell housing so I can't tighten the x pipe down to the header. Oh well. I will get an exhaust shop to fix that.
Don't get me wrong. I love the challange. I have spent a good part of 15 years being a tech for Ford. It is just when you are doing something that little people have tryed, it is hard sometimes to put your head arround that it is not a drop in affair.
Ya need the 02 extension harnesses. I have a set lying around somewhere.
I made extension harnesses from old sensors and some pigtails from the s yard :D
Heh, I hear that. It took me eight months to work out the bugs in my car after the engine swap so I could drive it....I'm still tweaking/adding/modifying...Almost a year later!
 Here's to Restomods!
Come over and put my 351 in for me when your done with that. :rollin:
I wish I had the money for an engine swap. I would love to just drop a big crate engine in this thing and restore it to a nice like new level and basically have a new car. Instead I've got my 205k mile car I've had since 160k miles, hehe. It's left me stranded on the road and with empty pockets and a drained bank account several times. I've parked it for months, even a year or two at a time before and tried other cars. I could never actually get rid of it though.. I just couldn't. As much as I hate this thing sometimes I still love it at the same time. I just wish I could make it better and do it right like it deserves to be. Now that I don't have my WS6 anymore I'm for more speed and I know it isn't going to happen. I still love driving it though. I'll keep hanging on to it. Keep waiting for when one day I can fix it right.
They can truly be a pain. I just wish she was fast.
They can be a pain but I love it. After a good nights sleep I am up and wanting to play again on it.
jandm and hypostang. yeah I need that harness extentions. But I may try and see what I can find in the wreakers and make my own. I am hoping to find a 5.0L stang. I know they had a long harness for the o2's and it is a plug in to the bird harness.
We actually use to sell those in Ford's industrial engine group (Ford Power Products).
Really. I did not know that. Of course they are non existant now...
Romeo2k....I am going to have to think about that one. Although you are not that far away. I am just right of the Province above your head.
