Title: Batch 3 Assorted Parts
Post by: Watchdevil on May 10, 2010, 08:42:06 PM
Batch 3:

A. 85-86 Tbird grille with no emblem. Aged condition with chrome pitting. - $5

B. 1985-86 Mustang standard vinyl steering wheel. Fits all Fox Tbirds and Cougars without cruise. If you have cruise it does in fact have three contact rings and you can indeed plug in the cruise switches and hide them inside the wheel behind the horn pad which snaps on/off quickly. When you need to use the switches, you can attach velcro to them and place them wherever you want on the wheel so you can use them while cruising. Horn pad repaired and now works but has no screw studs to secure it from behind the wheel. However they are not needed as it satisfactorily snaps into place on the wheel and stays there just fine. Ford oval emblem missing in picture but is now installed on the horn pad. - $20

E. Lower Steering Column covers - Two available - Dark Charcoal (almost black) - fits most Fox platform cars. - $5

F. Upper Steering column cover - Dark Charcoal (almost black) - Fits most Fox platform cars with column mounted automatic shifter. - $5

G. Tilt wheel collar - Dark Charcoal (almost black) - Fits most Fox platform cars with tilt wheel. - $3

H. Power Antenna Switch and trim plate. Fits all 85-88 Tbirds and Cougars. - $5

Buyer pays shipping.

Is the digital 85-88 speedo the same as the all digital cluster speedo?
And what is the mileage if you know?

1983-84 Tbird taillamps. Will fit 85-86 with enlargement of center opening on each side of the rear body panel. All other holes align.

RH taillamp good condition. LH taillamp has hairline crack in the rear side market area which is inside the lens and not through to the outside.

RH Taillamp $15
LH Taillamp $10

Dash pad for 1980-82 Tbird and Cougar and 1983-86 Midsize LTD and Marquis.  Dash pad has no cracks and seems reasonably pliable. Recommend spray or dying color to match. Just add trim strip from your old pad. - $15

Buyer pays shipping.

This is the standard cluster for 85-88 models. I believe the speedo unit itself is identical to the full digital clusters. I have no idea what mileage is on it.

This is for dragon574444...

These are the guts of the 1980-82 digital cluster that will swap right into the 83-84 cluster housing.

Second picture will show how the speedo unit will detach from the odometer unit with four screws and unplugging the connectors that go into the speedo sensor in the back of the odometer unit. The odometer will itself detach with the front screws on the light blue plastic front mounting plate. Totally modular so you can replace only what you need to and retain your own odometer with original milege if yours still works good. The odometer I have can easily be reset to the mileage you need if you need to use it.

Hmm. The two aren't 100% identical, but close enough. The 84 speedometer unit has one more terminal on it, and the gas gauge is styled differently. Ironically, the mileage is fine, mine was at 45300. I'll take it though. PM me with a shipping quote as soon as you're able to.

I definitely see the graphics are different on the fuel gauge readout and the speedo unit on yours has the extra fifth connection on the right. I can't tell by the picture what that circuit serves but as long as the first four connections from left to right serve the same functions on your printed circuit then you should have no problem because that is all that was needed for my speedo to operate.

This is the function of each connector from left to right...

1. cluster ground
2. cluster illumination dim (connects to the instrument cluster lights when the headlights are turned on)
3. Speed signal out, presumably for the tripminder option
4. Speedo 12v + on with ignition in run position.

I got this one out! I am trying to remember exactly though. I believe I started by taking the vent out of the trim. Gently pry on one side until it dislodges from the pivot. As far as the trim removal goes, it's easier with the vent out of the trim. If you notice on the trim, there are tabs. If possible reach from inside the glove box and push those tabs on the bottom of the vent trim. If now you will have to gently pry from the outside.

Hmmmmm, I will have to check into that.  Mine is not really damaged, except for the "slider" doesn't move the vent vanes.  If I could get it out, I may well be able to fix it.

Thanks for the tip!

Is your's still available?  Wouldn't mind a back up just in case...

ship to 66062

I apologize to anyone that has not got a shipping quote yet on requests for larger parts or large groups of parts that need to be boxed and shipping calculated. I have not had much time off for the past couple of weeks. I need to find boxes as well. I will try to catch up with this soon!
