What MAF are you using? If you know its transfer function you should be able to use the MAF you have with the quarter horse.

Not sure if you would want to go this route but I swapped in a 2000 Mustang GT MAF into my Coupe with an A9L processor and 42 lb/hr injectors.  You should be able to find the transfer function on the web and the stock MAF's are much more accurate (+/- 0.05%) than most aftermarket units.  I use an SCT chip and have a guy tune my car for me but I would think this would be pretty easy with what you are looking at getting.

You will need to get the plug for the newer MAF and some salvage yards will let you cut this off the harness and others will not.  If not they can be had new just search around on the web.  To wire one up is pretty simple:

I searched on http://www.car-parts.com and found my MAF for $40, the harness was around $19, and then the cost is what ever you want to spend on the filter set up.
