It plugs in beside the drivers seat, under the carpet.:D

It's a different harness, you unplug the single and plug in the dual. :D

When I added mine I got it out of a 1986 Lincoln Continental. I used the harness that came with the passenger side seat which has the same switch setup. I simply just spliced the main power + & - wires into the one for the driver's seat and it all works fine. No ripping out or swapping harnesses. Check out my resto thread, I think it is there somewhere.

If searching salvage yards don't forget to look in 82-86 Lincoln Continentals and 1980-82 Tbirds and Cougars, as well as 1981-82 Granada/Cougar sedans and 1983-86 LTD/Marquis. All these cars share the same switches and wiring harness/connector set-up.

Jerry, I have (had, rather) dual power seats, but I went to manual for both sides. I left the wiring all in there, just taped it down where it wouldn't get pinched. Bad thing is, carpet, seats, and dash are all back in, but if you have to have a harness, I'll yank the seats and try to get under the carpet from the back side to get the harness...

I had an issue with my seats not moving, I tried to solve it, but never got it sorted out.

Let me know if you might be interested...:D

So,under the driver seat,I unplug the harness and plug in the replacement harness for the two seats,or does the passenger seat harness just plug in as an add-on?I may spend a little time messing with that tomorrow.

How long is that dual harness? when I pulled the trac for ic I didn't see the end of it, I just cut it long enough so he could splice it in.

I'll look into the splicing first, but there are a fist full of wires on the cut harness I have.

Without having the correct end for my harness (or any end)... Is this where it would connect?

I do believe that is the plug for the seat harness, wherever that harness goes that comes from that seat plug is where you unplug it..:D

I believe it's the only plug under anything, besides the switches under the console.
That connector plugs into my drivers seat motor.
I'll go look outside in a bit and snap a pic of the cut wiring I got for the pass seat.

I'll get the harness out and grab a pic shortly and post it for us all to see.

Cool, we'll also get mine to compare, and discuss the way to splice the wires without a connector.

If I remember I thought the wires came from the front center by the dash.If I get a chance I'll look at the tc again, snap a pic or 2, this weekend, maybe tomorrow.

Hey ic what do you have by the console? Can't tell in the pic. You should be able splice into the other switch, it's all the same functions!, I think.

here's what I have right now. It made it as far as the center console.

Also have another partial harness I could possibly use for this.(http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee79/daminc/Stuff%20I%20dont%20know%20where%20to%20put/IMG_6964.jpg)

When I took out my dash to do my heater core, I had to remove the center console. When I did that I found the passenger side harness with the flat connector hidden under the sound deadner. It looks like I just have to find the switches to plug into that conector in the console and find where the pass seat harness connector is.

That is the seat harness plug. This is the end that plugs into the seat motor. The way this works is it picks up power from the switches then routes to the seat motors.

Look closely at this picture. This is my car stripped of the interior leaving only the harnesses in the floor. The plug in the floor that is positioned at the driver's seat goes to the seat motors. This runs over to the power seat switch. The power seat switch simply has 12+ and a ground supplied to it then the rest of the wires red and yellow go to the seat motors.

Keep in mind, I only had the factory driver's side power seat at this time. The last pictures will show the splice into the harness to power the passenger seat.

The splice to connect the power passenger seat to the power wires that supply the switch of the driver's seat. Black and White wire is 12v+ and solid black is ground. Primarily look for these two wires in your existing floor hardness. If these wires are not present anywhere in your existing floor harness or along the driver's side rocker area then you will need to find a hefty 12v+ circuit to connect to somewhere under the dash near the fuse panel. This should help you tremendously with the wire colors going to the swiches. Be aware you may have to switch some pins around on the connectors to get the seat switches to function in the directions that you want them to go. My passenger seat frame came out of a Lincoln Continental so some of the switch functions were switched around and I had to simply remove pins and placed them where they need to go. If you took your harness out of a Tbird/Cougar then they should be already correct.

None of the power seat motor wiring goes into the main chassis harness, just the black/white and black. The seat motor wires are only contained from the switches to each individual seat.

Driver's switch connector is on the right. Added on passenger switch is on the left.

Installed passenger seat frame...

I hope all this helps!
