Go yank a Supercoupe apart (grab a rust bucket) for the engine, trans, ECM, etc. Add new head gaskets and stud the top end. Sell off the supercharger and build a nice intake, and slap on a couple of rebuilt IHIs....
Great, another project floating in my head! :shakehead

Hmmm, maybe I'll use it for the engine in my 80's rendition of a two-seat 'bird.
Take an 80's square 'bird and an asc/McLaren, go to town cutting, swapping, and welding sheet metal, and you have a nice lookin' two-seater.
I wonder if there is any treatment for this?

If I were gonna make a custom intake I'd say to hell with it and go with split port heads. Yes, I've thought about it :hick:
In fact, I'd often dreamed about a twin turbo split port V6 setup with a custom cross-ram intake and two throttle bodies in a four-eye 'bird. Operative word being "dreamed"...
Yes. Or, since IHIs seem to be unreasonably expensive, maybe two GT28s (if buying new) or whatever comes stock on V6 V-dubs (if buying used).
Since the fox cars are a few hundred pounds lighter than the MN12s, that would be a rockin' combo.
So, please, stop it with the good ideas. I've got enough unfinished projects as is.
I kinda always thought just taking the SC 3.8 and dropping it straight into a TC would be pretty sweet.
I was at the Knott's Ford show a couple years ago and somebody did drop an SC engine into a four-eye car...looked SWEET!
Yeah... but I figured getting rid of the supercharger drag would really improve the fuel mileage and that the turbos would give you more opportunity for higher HO levels.

saw a COMPLETE 3.8 SC engine on craigslist earlier for 50.00, Shipping would probably suck though. :hick:
I had one of these once. It involved a late model Corvair, and a Buick GNX powertrain in the back seat. The only cure for this kind of insanity is a liberal dose of reality.
hummm... i could donate my 3.8 sc motor to the cause.
i know you didnt mean it but that just sooooooo stood out at a glance, (especially for me). :rollin: Ive had enough of that even before it happened.
on topic, x2 on thunderchickens idea.
Of course the Duratec V-6 from the new Mustang would sure be a nice swap!
3.7-liter
7,000 rpm redline
all-aluminum
DOHC
30MPG
All backed by a 6-speed manual!
And if someone can turn the ECM & harness into a stand alone unit...
