Title: Harmonic Balancer Removal
Post by: jpc647 on April 17, 2010, 09:17:59 PM
How does someone remove the harmonic balancer from a 1988 v6? I have removed everything that would be in the way, removed the pulley, and taken the bolt out of the center. The pulley was gently pried off, which I tried on the Harmonic Balancer, but I don't want to break it. Someone needs the harmonic balancer, and I would like to remove it without damaging it.

Thanks.

get a pulley puller, leave the pulley attached and thread the center bolt in just ever so slighty to get it pulled off with.
