Title: 84-85 LSC/Mustang GT air cleaner and valve covers
Post by: pro-five-oh on April 17, 2010, 01:02:58 AM
My brother just got a 1984 LTD LX, and we need a few things for it: looking for a dual snorkel airbox (top and bottom) and the finned aluminum valve covers from a 1984 Mustang GT (or similar).

I see the air cleaners on eBay for $50-100, depending on condition. Tell me what you got.

Make one.I grabbed a stock air cleaner (looks like that one,but only one snorkel on the passenger side),and cut a hole in the driver side and bolted another snorkel on.Super cheap, and no-one knew the difference.

I keep seeing one of those air cleaner setups advertised on the local craigslist. I could set something up with the seller if you're interested. PM me.

I did the exact same thing on my t-bird years ago, turned out good, didn't cost a thing.

You guys have a point, but by the time I get two air cleaners from the boneyard it will cost just as much as a decent dual snorkel unit.  Unless I actually get lucky and find on at Pick A Part.

Jangus, can you send me a link to that craigslist ad?  I can contact the seller if I'm interested and maybe write you a check for the part and shipping if he's not comfortable dealing with me via email.
