I'm looking for LCA bushings for the Cougar and wondered if there was a Mustang that used the same part, just to make ordering easier.
Anyone know what Mustang used the same LCA bushings?
Thanks
I hung a set of LCA's on my friends 88 cougar. They came directly offa my 86 stang GT. It was a nice easy bolt in.
If the bolt holes, mounting spacing, and ball joint spacing is the same, it will fit. That doesn’t mean that the LCA bushings are interchangeable. And that’s the question I’m looking to answer.
Best I can decipher through online catalogs the stang and cougar are different
That's what I was finding too.
Have you called Autozone?I had them find some for me,then I decided to just swap in the SN-95 lower control arms for the front. They were a direct swap, and had GREAT bushings.I had to have the friggin arms off anyway, and while they're off,it's the perfect time for new ball joints. They don't cost much, and they are probably pretty tired anyway if you've never replaced them.
I had a :mullet: moment on that one. I was thinking of rear lower control arms.
Well, then my answer would be as follows.......when I was looking to swap bushings, Autozone stated that they cod get them in factory style or through Energy Suspension.
87-88 TBirds/Cougars use different LCA bushings than the Mustangs and the 83-86 Tbirds.
I have the lower control arms from my car,and I believe the bushings are still in good shape.
Thanks for the confirmation
Wanting factory parts, or something performance-oriented?

Yeah I ordered from Energy Suspension Parts and they were on back order. I was trying to cross reference though Max Motorsports. Wouldn't mind a little tighter, not hard as a rock though. I'm keeping the 15's so that should soften it up a little.
Really? I ordered mine through an AutoZone, got em in about 4 days...I did order some spring isolators directly from ES, no waiting for them..
Did you get the black ones? (that may be the difference maker...mine are all red)
