Title: Power steering pump differences
Post by: 86caprirs on April 10, 2010, 01:34:32 PM
Ok. 5.8L swap. I got a 5.0L Mustang power steering pump bracket, head support bracket, bracket from water pump to power steering pump bracket and all bolts. Now does my 5.0L thunderbird power steering pump bolt to the Mustang 5.0L power steering pump bracket or do I need a mustang power steering pump?

Yes,it'll bolt right up and be fine. The valve in the side of the pump is the difference between the two.Unless you have one from a Sport. That would be the same as the Stang.Either way, bolt the pump up and run with it....no worries....unless it's a  pump.

The pump is good on the Bird. The mustang pump I got with the Mustang bracket was bad. It is a sport Tbird 5.0L so I guess it is the same. Excellent. Thanks Vinnie
