Title: Fuel pressure questions...
Post by: boss9 on April 08, 2010, 12:09:40 PM
Edelbrock 600cfm. Just curious what the fuel pressure should be ?And what are the problems associated with too low of a pressure ?
Going over my engine and found that both carb adjustments were way out of balance and running rich. Now I'm seeing a fuel pressure reading on the regulator of 3.5 . Seems low to me. Would this account for a "falling on it's face" feeling in higher rpms ?
Thanks

definately. should have enough pressure to keep the bowls full. that will vary on application. Average pressure would be between 4 and 7psi.

you might also check the edelbrock website for some of the setup and troubleshooting or the manual if you still have it.

Just downloaded the manual. Looks like I should be at 6 to 6.5 .

Yea, set it at 6lbs and you should be good to go, I run my big block 472 at 7.5 - 8lbs
