Title: 5 speed swap info..
Post by: cougar1car on April 06, 2010, 10:48:11 PM
I am thinking about trying this swap if my tranny ends up being bad from a malfunctioning TV cable. Anyone done it on the 3.8? Is it dificult? Also what parts would I need and what car do they work best coming from?

Thanks in advance

what year is your car? CFI or fuel injected, or just carbed? The 88 up v-6 is neutral balanced, so a flywheel and clutch setup for a newer mustang works on those. The 87 down engines, no body seems to know what the balance is, and would be the biggest problem to get over. Esentally, the transmission will bolt up, but you need to figure out what flywheel you need.
