Post by: 347Thunder on April 06, 2010, 02:37:02 PM

I actually like that better than mine.I think the slightly smaller circumference makes it "fit" better.I like the black as well.

I had mine painted to match the car. When it was on my blue Thunderbird,it looked like a big silver spot on the side and looked wrong to me,so,the paint......

Kind of.I used some black rubber gasket material and I carefully made a nice round factory appearing gasket to place it between the lid and the body.I didn't want metal to metal. It was about the thickness of a quarter.

The gas lid area on your car is the same as mine.My lid is bigger.

It looks like the lid is 6 3/16" wide, and the gas lid area (the body opening for the lid) is 6 9/16" wide.

I agree. It looks kinda small, but still looks pretty good. I was thinking about doing the same at some point... if ever. I think a full car pic will help me make a better judgement.

I say keep it as it is.It looks great. It looks like it belongs there. It's not too small.Don't convince yourself that it is.

Hey guy's, does anyone have pics with the lid open...does this replace the stock lid or just affix to it?:dunno: By the way, they both look good.:D

Both look great. The red car looks good because it still has some black trim. The green one is more of a monochrome look anyways so it works that way.

I think,as I stated, the black one looks great, and fits well. The small gap between it and the outer edge of the fender looks "right".

hmmmm. I really like these, is there anything u had to do with the fender or something, or is it just pop it in and it fits?

Mine needed mild massaging in a couple of areas of the fender, but not too bad.I could still put it back to stock and I don't think anyone would really notice the difference unless you knew what you were looking for.
