Title: Selling the 87
Post by: Dansbirds on March 15, 2010, 10:37:06 AM
Well its time to part with the car that introduced me to this site nearly 4 years ago. I never thought I would have it this long or that it would become one of the most dependable cars I have ever owned. Its a 87 with a V6 and about 179k on it. I have put over 50k on it myself. I had mentioned before I was going to sell it in the spring and Karen had a possible interest so to be fair I would give her first shot. It has a non-cracked dash from a 86 Cougar in it as well as sport seats and console from a 87/88 sport. I would prefer it goes to a person who knows and appreciates these cars so I will hold off alternative sales formats for awhile. If it doesnt sell here I will put the old headlights back in it and if someone is needing some slightly used NOS ones they will be available as the other cars here are older. I also have a set of 10 holes that I might be convinced to send with the car. I really dont know what its worth so I will leave it open to offer.

I do have 2 rust free doors that the new owner can have also if wanted.

The car was originally in PA and then here in western NY for the last 4 years so it has seen winters. The bottom of the pass door has rust but I have a set of doors the new owner can have with it if wanted. Moneywise as I told Karen I will eventually put a for sale sign in it and see if it gets 600-800(h/l assys are spoken for if this is how it goes) but I would take less for it for anyone from this site as I would prefer it goes to someone who knows and appreciates what it is. I had offered it to Karen first but havent heard back in awhile and I know shes dealing with the joy of continued education costs for her son as am I so it is still available.

Hmm would it make the drive to Chicago or would it be better off on a trailer?
