Title: continental headlights for 88 cougar
Post by: mcb82gt on March 07, 2010, 08:40:53 PM
Anyone ever installed them?  They look like bolts for attachment swivel and only had 3 instead of 4?

Just wondering.:hick:

I bought a headlight from a '92 Continental and installed it on my Cougar.  I had to use the bucket/bracket assembly from my car since the one from the Lincoln was completely different.  But the actual headlight itself is identical.

You had to seperate the lens from the housing?

No I did not separate the lens from the housing.  I just had to take the Lincoln's installation bracket off of the headlight and replace it with the one from the Cougar.  I wish I had a picture to show you as it would make it easier to describe.  Essentially it was the part that mounts the headlight to the header panel and allows it to be aimed correctly.
