Named our son Braydon, and i have not heard many other boys with that name.
Plus the short form is Bray, which sounds pretty good.
Let's just hope he doesn't turn out to be an exceptionally loud person:
But that's nothing, really. I heard a story the other night that some woman named her daughter "Chlamydia" because she heard the word once and thought it sounded like a pretty name.
how about Seven? like the number 7.
Actually personally, if I ever have a kid, I'd want to name him Sebastien, i like that name.
schlong....schlong is an awesome name
ive heard some unique names, but the thing is, most of them done belong to unique people
what my parents did, they waited untill i was born, and based my name on my appearance and personality...as a newborn...how it works, i dont know
suprised i didnt get the name "Asshole"
yeah...thats how we ended up naming the first one. had an envalope full of names we liked. ended up going with a name we never even concidered. unfortunately it turned out to be the #1 name for girls for 03'. oh well
heheh...
Congrats!
With both our boys, Brenden 22 months old and Aiden 6 months old, we decided to go old Irish. Little did we know that Aiden would be one of the most popular names for boys in this area right now. We had considered Wesley, but I've always liked Laslo for some reason. My vote is for Laslo. Anyone know the movie that name is from?
Just don't use my name! :p
(and yes, I realize that no one here knows what my name is.. that's why I said it.. hah)
Do something that isent that common.
Milquetoast. I had a cat named Milquetoast and he was cool (as far as cats go, anyway) :D
If all else fails, there's always "it You Little shiznit!"..
Axle has a nice ring to it :)
or so you think :deal:
Stuntmannick...g'n'r fan?
name him Daren if you want him to be cool.
name him Shawn if you want to find him masterbating to gay porn when he's 13!
hahahahaha! Shame I won't be able to read the responce for a week!
Name him Daren if you dont want him to spell...just look under his user name "Never a doll moment"
Funny how you didn't use it.. :p
He capitalized Doll.. like it was something significant to him.. could he be talking about his blow-up doll? :p
If "she" sprang a leak, he'll never have a Doll moment.. :hick:
I'm kinda partial to Royce, myself.
It is a bit on the rarer side - I've only met 3 other people with the same name in my life.
I'm named after my dad (i'm a "Junior"!). Royce is actually my middle name, but is the one I've always gone by. I guess they didn't want to get us confused with one another! :)
im a "jr" too. i will never do that to my kid. its amazing how easy credit boards and mail can get screwed up. i constantly get his mail and our credit reports took me over a year to get fixed.
i cant spell for so its up to his mom on that one...lol
thanks for the suggestions guys..keep it up...ive got till like the 7th of september...lol
Ack.. not my birthday.. :p

Open up a parts catalog and have at it (JK) :hick:
I'm terrible with names. My cousin wanted help with this too and everything I really liked I'd never burden a human with (I named my dog Furia, very non-human friendly lol).
My cousin's having a boy on June 6 named Aiden. Had it been a girl, it would have been Angelina. Both overly popular names now imo.
My little brother was named Adam cuz at the time, my parents thought it was uncommon... till he started going to school and there were always other adam's in his class.
My mom picked out my name when she was 15. One of those "If I ever have a girl, her name will be Crystal" things. And this was after a charactor on a soap opera (yeesh)
The wife and I just went through this. There was a lot of time spent looking at Celtic baby names. You wouldn't believe how few female Celtic names are actually Feminine.
What we came up with, (not sugestions):
If it's a boy, Labban Adam Reeves (LAY-bun as in the main character of a book I started writing when I was 14. The book that made me want to be a writer, but oddly enough didn't inspire me to learn how to spell) The rest is just my name.
If it's a girl, Coira Aidan Reeves (COY-rah AY-den, meaning Seething Pool and Little Fiery One) Both are Scots Celtic, and Aidan is used for both boys and girls.
If we end up with another boy, he'll be Naithaniel Brian Reeves. I've always liked Nathaniel, but like Naithaniel better (NAY-than-yel) and Brian is Ange's father's and brother's name.
We still can't find one for a second girl. We're planning for two of each, but honestly, how do you plan something like that. We hope for, I guess.
Admittedly, the first names are a bit odd, so we decided to give the kids common middle names, so they can use them if they get teased in school. Hey, I'm a fan of uniqueness, but not torture. ;)
10 days and counting. :wtf:
I've always been a fan of alliteration in names, first and last, not necessarily middle as well. So i guess it all depends on the last name.
I don't get this hype about middle names, why does everyone have them.. there's really no need for them.. Or i could just be talkin' out of jealousy because I dont have one :(
I have two :grinno:
I have 2 girls, but had they have been boys, we had narrowed it down to the following:
Brandon
Troy
Miles
or Jake (Jacob)
My crew of 3 boys consists of:
James
John
Karl
Mracus (mark)
Ethan
Jeremy
Kevin
Justin
Devin
Deigo
Joseph (joe)
Terry
Matthew
Max
David
Travis
Keith
or mine Clayton
My youngest son (9) has been begging, seriously begging, us to let him change his name for the past three years. :rollin: He has at least two others in his classroom each year with the same name...Zachary. We only chose it for my wife's grandfather, and his middle name for her dad.
My oldest son (13) shares my first name, but different middle name, after my grandfather.
My daughter (turned 5 today) has a longer story behind hers. For short, we wanted to name after my wife's great grandmother, Elizabeth, but I liked Megan. We looked Megan up in a couple books and turned out that Megan meant 'Pearl', which happened to be Great-grandma's middle name. It seemed too much like fate and we named her Megan Elizabeth. Her grandmother died a few years later, but the happiness it brought her meant the world to my wife. I'm so glad we did.
Older family names seemed to be our top choices.
if your looking for something different... Dexter. Thats my first name, and iv never met ne one with that name. xcept dexters labratory :D and i think i heard of a tennis player once... but ne ways. and it sucks to hear my mom yell "Dexter Franklin!!" :grinno: cuz i know it aint gunna be good... lol :D
