Title: Give me ideas for painting a '36 Ford Coupe....
Post by: bduly on April 24, 2005, 01:25:07 AM
Okay so not a real one, but my end of the semester project for my "model finsihing" class is to paint something. Most people are doing costum mail boxes, but I just had to do this. I need some ideas on colors of paints. I want it to look mean. Maybe some sort of two-tone paint job? I'm alright with an airbrush so minor graphics (i.e. something seperating the two-tone colors) are possible. But mostly, i want it to look like a badass. Please help... Here's what I started with, but now it is shaved and smoothed. Post anything from pictures to color suggestions. Thanks everyone.

Does that picture mean you like (or don't mind) cars with purple on 'em?

If so, I would suggest looking over the picture gallery at MysticCobra.net (http://mysticcobra.net/ogallery1.shtml) and seeing if any of the color-change paint jobs strike ya. Personally, I like "Ocean Extreme".. blue-green-purple.. and, I confess, I'd love to use it on my '88 as part of a two-tone, just to be really odd. (but possibly used sparingly if at all, due to likely high cost)

How about a nice imitation WalMart spraycan Demo-derby paint job?
(You were expecting something intelligent??   )
