Anyone ever used coil spring clamps to semi-temporarily lower (or raise) their bird/coug? How'd it work out?
Just get lowering springs.Di it the right way the first time.My SN-95 springs lowered the Sport between 1 3/4 and 2 inches all the way around.....and they're wicked cheap.Or ,like me,you could find a set for free.
I used clamps to raise the rear of a fox mustang to accomodate huge tires (to match my mullet back then...). They worked fine, and I kept them on there until I sold it.
I dont really care to spend the time or money on lowering springs for my rusty old beater daily driver. I just want to try dropping it an inch or two and see if it helps highway mileage. Its not really worth a lot of time and effort.
Do you really think lowering it is going to make much difference gas miles? Clamp them up see what happens. You will lose some ride comfort,
It might if the front is too high....Don't expect an extra 5 MPG though.....
Its pretty much a proven fact that lowering reduces frontal area and thus drag. It won't be 5 mpg but when you're laid off anything helps.
