Title: New guy...sort of
Post by: boss9 on January 30, 2010, 09:35:50 AM
Been here awhile just lurking. Had plans in 06 to get into a Bird but the wife had some health issues and that got sidelined. Well, all is better now and I'm bringing my 88 home tomorrow ! I hope she's fast !!
306 roller block, flat tops, ARP rods and bolts, Compcam 533 lift/ 270 duration, roller rockers, ported 351w heads with 1.94 - 1.60 valves, 550 springs, 600cfm carb (seems small to me), full length headers, 2.5" dual X-pipe exhaust, MSD ignition, Hughes built C4, Weld Draglites front and rear.  :burnout:
Stay tuned for pics and details.

Thanks hcor.
Thought I might add, the PO left the 7.5 rear but installed a Ford racing Trac-Loc with 3.73s. I'm interested in everyone's thoughts on the entire combo.

Run the 7.5 until it comes apart then upgrade to an 8.8 You'll be fine for awhile if it was assembles correctly.

Picked it up today. Both bumpers already painted. Body is rust free and straight. Half- assed primer job but at least it's not rattle canned. Nice and lopey with good response.

Hello and welcome!! Sounds like you're going to have alot of fun with your Bird. It's going to look sharp once painted, the big and little wheel combo looks cool. I'm sure there's quite a few of us on here can help you out with some parts. Defenately check out the for sale section.
