Ok heres whats up. I just bought a 88 LSC 5.0 H.O. For $200. Yeah thats the good, now the bad the whole efi system is fried like computer and all guy i got the car from had some jack leg work on it and he let a wire touch:flame:. But all and all i have alot of stuff left over from my old 84 mustang carbed and i remember a while back there was a site or somthing showen what all u have to do for the swap. Anyone recall that site it was years ago when i seen it
how about instead of believing what the guy that sold it to you said you do your own diagnosis and find out what is really wrong. I have heard this story many times and most of the time it is something simple.
converting a FI SBF to carb? never heard of such a thing.
Speed Density computers are easy to find and generally cheap.
As i mean wires are fried looking at the main wireing harness so wires are cut some are milted and others are just ewww. But yeah i remember a write up some where on the web but ill just go look harder for it lol :)
Well IMHO, replacing the main harness and the others would be a lot cheaper than going to a carbed setup, the parts could be had at the boneyards and on the site pretty cheap, but it's your car, if thats what you want to do then more power to 'ya.
http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/tbi_conversion.html found the site for those others that are thinking of it. Yeah i got parts left over from my old mustang GT Performer intake and 650 holly not even ran for a summer just tested the carb out today on my old truck no leaks :) lol
hey,that site looks familiar.:hick:
Main EEC(computer) harness on a LSC also includes the auto level system and ABS, and is a royal pain in the ass to work with ... If the harness is that bad you have to either replace it, switch to carb, spring suspension, and vacuum brakes, or junk the car...
The site you are looking for is probably this one... Looks like it hasn't been updated lately some of the links are dead...

I would find a new harness myself, unless your looking for a good project.
Switching a harness is a lot easier than changing intakes, putting a carb on, fuel line issues, and then, as mentioned, you have all the other shiznit that's really not even related.
Besides...cars ain't had carburetors since KISS had a hit...think green! :hick:
I guess Tears are Falling was a hit. :hick:
Sometimes I think all the carb hate on here is ridiculous...
