Hi, This board has saved my posterior a few times so here I am again, with another question...
I'm pulling the 1978 vintage 302 out of my 56 wagon and replacing it with a 91 5.0 H.O. . So now I'm stuck with the wiring changes on the alternator.
The 78 Alternator had an external regulator; the regulator has 4 inputs, marked I A S F, plus of course there is the main batteryterminal on the back of the alternator.
The 91 alternator has 2 separate plugs; one of them is marked A S I and the other is marked BAT and STA.
SO how do I reconcile the differences? I'm sure that one of you electrical gurus has the answer! Thanks.
Dave R.
