Title: emission parts numbers
Post by: blackcat85 on January 17, 2010, 10:53:10 PM
hi
does anyone know what ford part numbers are for the following parts? the dealer said he needs the numbers off the old ones before he can see if they are still available as motorcraft, i dont want to pull the parts out just to get the numbers and have to put them back in .
the parts are  the throtle postion sensor, IAC motor, and the MAP sensor , all are for a 1984 3.8 v6.

thank you
eddie

According to my 84 shop manual: For the first 60 days of production the TPS had a 10 pin connector.
My 84 has a 4 pin connector of which 3 are used.

From a TSB that I have the Ford PN's are:
10 pin connector  E4PZ-C
4 pin connector  E3PZ-A

E3 (1983) part seems to me like it should apply to the 10 pin (first 60 days of production) .

NAPA PN 2-1982  works for my 84 with the 4 pin connector.

From another TSB:
Map Sensor 84-85 3.8L CFI  PN  E5SZ-9F479-A
This is an upgrade from what your car was built with to correct a "trailer hitching" problem.

I don't have a PN for the ISC motor.

What are you trying to fix?

-Map sensor....E6FZ-9F479-A....
3.8 in '84 should have TBI or straight up carb, and they were a bit diff than EFI.
need the calibration tag # out of door jamb to check., as no IAC or TPS listed for v6 at that time...or thats not what they called them then.

Try disconnecting and plugging the vacuum line to the EGR valve. See if that helps the trailer hitching.
