Well, for those who don't know, I decided not to buy the 05 stang... Why? because Ford was being rediculous about it and I decided I didn't need the aggrivation (or the monthly payments for that matter...)
So I decided to go for my motorcycle license. Just put the deposit down on my bike last night. I'm getting an 05 Ninja 500 and as the guys at the dealership keep saying "slamming it" Ah the things you have to do to have fun when you're short... I hunted down all the info for them and they're doing all the work, but I'm taking 4-5 inches off of the seat seight.
Anyway, it'll look like this (NO NEON COLORS!!! :D ), just shorter:

Isn't that what it says under all pictures of you? ;)
Have fun with that and be careful out on the road...you'll be like a MicroMachine.....
Congrats, though I really don't like these things. Please don't give into the urge to see how fast it goes. In this city, at least 8+ people get taken out on these things a year. Usually on the same road, too. They have the ability to go twice as fast as they should.
But have fun, and be smart. :)
Awesome Crystal! Have fun on the new toy and enjoy the gas mileage! You'll have to post a pic of your riding gear when you get it. :D
Yeah, I have to echo what he said. Glad you got something you're happy with, but please don't get yourself killed.
Don't worry guys, I'm not out to turn myself in to road pizza. 2 wheels are much different then 4 and I don't have walls, so trust me, I'll take it easy. I'm not up to getting myself killed at the moment. If I wanna go fast that's what tracks are for. Even if you crash at high speeds there, there's emergency assistance and a lack of objects to smash in to, so chances of walking away are much higher.
It's a 500 cc bike and I know I don't weigh much of anything, so it's gonna go faster than usual. Trust me, I went about this the responsible way. You should see how many people just run out and buy 750+ bikes and mangle them in a month.
I'd have gotten the 250 and upgraded in a year or 2, but I just needed to do too much work to it to bring it down to sell in a year and start all over, so slow and steady on the 500 it is.
I got a full face helmet, gloves, armored jacket and my chaps should be all altered today. When I get more in to it I'll probably up the armor amounts. I'm taking the MSF course at the end of next month, had to order the bike early to get all the modifications done. I won't actually be riding it till after class.
Sounds good to me. :)
The whole problem around here is kids who just get their license, and instead of asking their parents to buy them the $20G car, they ask for the $5G bike, and the parents are all over it. And like you said, a week later, and we're hearing about it on the news.
The course is the one peice of advice I was going to give you, but you sound like you've got it all figured out already. :)
I've been hanging out on a sport bike forum for a couple weeks talking things through with people. They weren't very helpful about the modifications, but when it came to gear and safety stuff they were great.
Plus the senior members have the common sense to try and talk people out of giant new first bikes and in to smaller used ones. This should be a safe middle ground. Like I said though, with all the mods I have to do to drop it, I'm not planning on getting anything bigger for a few years, so I didn't mind the $ on the new bike and I'm going in knowing it's gonna get scratched and bumped...
It's kinda like a car, do you not paint it cuz you know eventually something will happen to it? I sure hope not...
Congrats on the toy! I figured when you decided against the stang you had somethin else planned.
Trust me, I'm amazing at justifying things I don't need... Like that second laptop I just bought :nono:
And everybody needs their toys. Had Ford not been rediculous, I'd have a stang, but seeing as they basically refused to get me the color I wanted I said no. It may seem silly, but for $27k, you bet your @$$ I'm getting what I want and not settling! :disappoin
They wanted me to order it on the spot, I said no. Then they were like we'll do this and that and the other thing, but you'd have to get the sonic blue (which I like, but not what I wanted). I said no and they called me a couple times trying to get me to order the sonic blue. That's the point where I lied, and said I didn't have the $ anymore cuz I was sick of them calling. Mention the money's gone and they disappear.
Now had they taken a few grand off, I'd have gotten the sonic blue, but I wasn't going to compromise and not win out on the deal. Basically they thought they could take a little innocent 21 year old girl for all she had and I proved them wrong :flame:
Yep sounds like a S$^TTY dealer to me. There was one that tried that when we bought the wife's car in 2000. Found another dealer a little further away who got us what we wanted at a better price. Some of these guys think that if ya aint got that 30 something look that you are easy pickins..... It's their loss.
Well Crystal since you didnt get the new stang you can always ride along in my 05 Mustang GT Convertable. Heck I will even get a booster seat for you to sit high enuff for your hair to blow in the wind... ;) Congrats on the bike though.
Exactly. I was just at the point where I didn't even want to start over somewhere else. I just don't like car salesmen...
When the t/c died I almost got a ride to the mazda dealership, forked over a few grand and said sold. They were ready to sell me a fully loaded RX8 for $27k (usually like $35k) because they knew I was looking at the stang too. That's when the whole payment thing came in though and I said screw it again. I don't care what people have to say, I love those cars!
I'm just gonna fix my t/c and call it a day for now. I can't even give that thing away it seems, so a bit of work and it'll go again. I have my toy, it'll be payed off in a year or 2 (only a $5k bike) and maybe then I'll buy a new car, then again, maybe not...
And the weasle emerges from the hole in the wall... :p
Glad to see you left star wars for 5 minutes to check in :giggle: Good to have you back, there hasn't been enough friendly mudd slinging around in a while :flip:
Yea I need to get geared up for the upcoming car shows so I thought I would bring in a bucket of mudd and see what I can stir up...
Heh.. weasle from Bloodfin in SWG, huh?
Just don't get it on the cars...
And the battle of the geeks begins :flip: :rollin:
Naw.. actually I know the name, I even know what profession he is in the game.. but seeing as I do what I do, or did what I did in SWG, (and admit to it freely when NOT in SWG) I won't be telling him who I am. :p
Quick, how many more random topics can we squeeze in?
(I'm bored at work and need entertaining!)
We could talk about how the ACLU is intentionally trying to get the people in the Minutemen project into trouble with the law.. picking fights, harassment, etc.
Nope sorry I have 2 accounts and they are both on Radiant.
My guys names are "Badweasle"-Jedi Padawan almost to knight trials,Was Master Teras Kasi, Master Freelance Pilot, Rebel, "Ackobo"-Master Swordsman & Master Doctor, Novice Imperial Pilot, Imperial, "Quake"-Master Armorsmith & Master tailor & Master Artisan, Novice Rebel Pilot, Rebel
OK, good.. because frankly, I didn't like the guy with that name on Bloodfin. :p
I sell credits from SWG.. not big-time like IGE does, but I've sold enough to pay for our several accounts. (and we've never duped or anything like that, they're all legit credits) So obviously I don't like to share details of who I am in-game. At least not until I find a buyer for our little operation and can get out of it.
On a side note, I see that SOE is opening their own account/item/credit exchange service. (but for EQ2, for now) Looks like we might finally be legitimized.
Crystal, you just hush. :p I know what yer about to say. :p
who... me? But I'm such an innocent little...
Yeah couldn't even finish the sentence it's such :bs:
Good lord. My glasses are getting thicker by the minute.
