Title: tales of Christmas loot
Post by: Beau on December 24, 2009, 11:13:31 PM
Christmas is a fine tradition of friends, family, loved ones, and good food. It's also a time of giving, caring, comfort and peace.

But, sometimes it's also fun to discuss the loot that usually goes along with it ;)

So, with that said, here's what I hauled in lol.
Black and Decker variable speed jigsaw...very nice, wanted one for awhile
Tom-tom GPS for the car...I don't go many places where I don't know the roads, but this will come in handy when I do!

I got a 25 dollar gift card from my work, well as a pizza last night for supper break, AND a winning lottery ticket! (relax, I'm not rich, just won another free ticket :hick: lmao)

Nicole got a dishwasher, a new coat, and something else that I've still gotta pick up yet. Can't say here cause sometimes she's looking on as I make a post etc...

Cole got a buncha cool stuff, a little table, chairs, some mega blocks that we were playing with a little bit ago...he's a happy camper :D

So what cool and neat goodies did y'all get?

16 pairs of Socks :wtf:, Jerky, Jerky seasoning (for deer, alright!), 2D Maglite, 2Gb Mp3, Dremel 300, $50,  SKS stripper clips and..... TADA... a crock pot?  First year away for college and in an apartment, so I think I might have to learn how to use it.

Brother made out like a bandit.  His girlfriend had me pick up a Savage .22 for him.  Nice one too.

Merry Christmas.

$100 in cash around $75 in gift cards, a flannel shirt and some sweat pants that actually fit. Looks like they didn't want me to return any of my gifts this year.

Got a tool set from my GF, perfect for the JY so I dont lose my good stuff.

Family didnt even put up the tree (its on the porch), so my Mom cancelled Christmas pretty much. I got my Dad a bottle of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit (VERY hard to find around here I learned), my Mom some wall pictures that she had been wanting for years, my little sister the shoes she wanted and my girlfriend the shoes she wanted and some penguin slippers. Got one of my best friends' little boy a pair of baby Pumas.

My favorite gifts so far this year were these. I have a thing for "drinking" cups. I personally have a Beerfest boot for mine, but Im always looking for presents for my buddies.

Came with a shirt inside that said the same. Best part was when he came to get it he was with a girl that this would apply to.

The usual copious amounts of socks and chocolates, a Kershaw Leek CKT (very cool knife), a 2 ton hydraulic jack perfect for my trunk (if I had a spare in it), a pair of jeans, two jackets for work, $150 cash, Harley Davidson gift card, Pink Floyd toque.

I'll get pictures of the knife and jack after my phone charges.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Here are the pics:

CKT model so its all black, assisted opening, blade is sharp enough to shave with, yes I tried.

Good size for the trunk as I said before, gonna try it out tomorrow.

Santa was really good to me this year. I acted as my own Santa for most of it, but used Christmas as an excuse to splurge, since things have been going exceptionally well with me, what with my re-entering the workforce and losing 100 pounds (and having big, secret plans for the future). Since going back to work meant essentially dismantling my garage tool collection to bring tools to work I had to re-mantle it. I did so by scanning Canadian Tire flyers since mid October and looking for sales, and found some doozies as you'll see below...

My haul:

A pic of most of the loot (jeans, watch and books not shown)

Somehow i still envy the guy who got the lobster....
I was supposed to goto Maine for work last week.  The trip got cancelled due to weather.  Im kinda pissed i was planning on bringing back about 60 lobsters for family and friends.  Can't beat the price $4.50 per lb for live ones.  Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound FTW.  For anyone interested they are just outside of Bar Harbor.  And yes they ship em live.  Personally id never pay the shipping.  I just have em boxed up for checked luggage status.

Bose, while products are okay, is one of those companies that makes you pay for the name.  Usually you can find a equal quality product for about a third less $$.  Bose spends a TON on marketing so they tell everyone they are superior.  Look to the forums at head-fi.org when you're serious about buying.
