Title: 87-88 Body Kit Needed
Post by: pkeen00 on December 23, 2009, 03:59:54 PM
My "friend" ran my car into a ditch so I am looking to replace my Front Air Dam and Right Side Skirt of my ground effects kit that were broken.
If you have these pieces or a whole kit for sale let me know please!
Thanks,
Phil

You may want to post some pics of what you're looking for. Those pieces could be tough to come by.

Hahahahahahahahaha excuse the laughter but these pieces are impossible to find man and psyco expensive if you do.
You'd be better off taking your old pieces to a body shop and having them repaired.
Ever if they are cracked up bad or missing chunks a good bodyshop can fix them.
Also there were several different kits back then and you would need to know which your was.

Fiberglass repair if pieces are missing is like filling a hole with bondo, it doesn't work too well and its very fragile. Maybe thats not the best comparison but you get the picture.

Not if it's done with sheeting and fiberglass resin.
It will be strong as new.

thanks. got a line on a pair of sideskirts that should work well from a member here so i only need the front valence still. if i have to i will have a shop redo the one that is on there but it is pretty beat up and missing a big chunk around one of the fog light holes so i would rather have a different one and just put it on myself.

mine was the GST kit you can see a picture of it on coolcats.net but i dont really care about matching as long as it is in good shape that is why i didnt specify a certain kit. the car is a frankensteinish beast anyway.

thanks all,
Phil

+1 on getting quotes for repair work on your existing front.

Fronts are probably the hardest piece/s to find and the price usually reflects the rarity.

Side Skirts are the most common i would say, So you shouldn't have that hard of a time finding a seller for those, But still probably not all that cheap.

It's a royal PITA the get kits for our cars now... Our last hope appears to have stopped making kits/Went out of business.
