Do the aftermarket mustang aircraft style fuel doors, fit our style cars?
I search but didnt find anything.:D
IIRC they are a little smaller on the opening and need a shim to make it look right but they work. Pretty sure Vinnie has one.
Mine is a 2004 Bullitt Mustang gas lid assembly.It was brushed aluminum,but I didn't like a big silver dot on the side of the car.It doesn't look right,and it's distracting when you look at the car.I had mine painted body color.I've been using one since 2004 when they came out.The only thing different now than when this picture was taken,is that I removed the black bolts (they started rusting),and added stainless steel fasteners.Here it is.......

Like Vinny, I've had mine since they first came out. I think they look great on our cars. With my color combination I left mine natural. This pic. is a little far away, I have closer ones but I can't resize them at the moment.
I want your louvers, give me an address and I'll drive out there tonight and take them off your hands. :) lol
Haha! I had a guy at the Carlisle Ford Nationals try to talk me into selling them to him. He kept telling me he had $300 cash he'd give me to take them off for him. I told him I couldn't sell them the car wouldn't look right with out them. I've had them since 92 or 93.
So Vinnie, just how easily did that door install?
It wasn't hard.I had to replace the factory hardware.I also had to remove a very small amount of metal from a couple of places on the lip where the factory gas lid would seat,and drill a couple of holes.Again,not hard.Once you get into the job,it's self explanatory.If you shop around,there are different styles of gas lids that fit the car pretty well made for the Stang.I wish it locked,but I have a locking gas cap these days.They make one that actually is electric,and when you push the gas lid button,it pops out,then actually turns forward out of the way on it's own.Really cool,but costly.
