Title: Junkyard run today
Post by: Loaded87IROC on December 19, 2009, 09:40:27 AM
I am heading back to the salvage yard today to pick up a couple of things.  There was about 5 or 6 Fox Cougar/Tbirds there yesterday.  I put up a few pics in the 2009 junkyard finds thread.  I will try to get pics of the ones I forgot to take pics of yesterday.

Does anybody need anything?  I drive a pretty little car so I can't grab big things but I will do what I can.  The yard is about 20 miles away, but I can run back there if somebody really needs something.

This is a big if...but if you could find (and were willing to pull it) I'm in rather dire need of a manual style heater box. The whole black thing behind the dash...I'll make it worth your time

No hard feelers though if you can't, or don't want to mess with it :D

Ok, here are the pics.  Vinnie, I got your blue injectors.  I tried to find the lowest mileage wrecked car to get them out of.  They came from a 99 Taurus with 79k on it.  As far as seatbelt receivers go, the only good set is in the white 87/88 TC.  They are red with only 1 small crack that I noticed.  There was also a nice single gray one in one of the other cars, but no matching set.  Let me know if those are in nice enough shape for you.

PM sent Vinnie.  I think that good gray belt is on the passenger side if that makes a difference to you.

FordTruckFreeek - Finding them isn't a problem, pulling them might be.  I wish I would have kept the one from my turbo car, I just threw it away when I gutted it.  Is there really none in your area?

Unless I make about a 130 mile round trip, I don't know of any yards that are open anymore. The one I do know of may or may not have what I need...

Thanks though :D

Ok, cool, thanks!

Well, I searched some places, found a place about 120 miles away, so I emailed them with what I need. Hopefully after the holidays I can get something figured out with them, if not, I'll let you know, if you're still interested in doing this, that is. Lol.

Thanks again :D

You should get the side skirts off the red 84 bird. Not for me or anything, but you could probably sell them for a decent price depending on what the yard charges you. That white turbo coupe has good taillights that can be hard to find too.

Also, is that TC just missing the mirror, or did it come without one?

Haystack, if you look closely at the white TC, you'll see where some one took a tire iron or something to get the trunk open, which always leads to the taillight sections above the license plate getting broken. Not to mention mangling the trunk lid.
And I already asked about the skirts on the red bird.

I did notice the skirts on the red TC, but the skirt on the drivers side is broken off from about the door back so I didn't bother messing with them.  The mirror on the white TC was just missing.  The right side tail light had a crack in it, but the drivers side appeared to be in good shape.

hwy73, I think all the front lights on that 88 were in pretty good condition, but I can confirm next time I make the trip out there.  BTW, did you get the clock yet?

blackcougar71, sorry there isn't any 83-84 Cougar's out there.  I do however has a very nice set for $1600 and I'll throw in the car they are attached to for free.  :)

I tried to post a feedback yesterday but maybe it hit when the site was offline.  Resent it tonight.    Anyway...
Clock arrived on 12/24, it runs and the light still works!  Old-school quality.

!!!
I totally missed the skirt.
That's from the same kit my rear bumper cover is from.

I know you said the D/S is busted, But could you get a price check on that next time your out there please?

And are the remains of the busted D/S still there? I'd be willing to put in the work to fix it if enough of it's left. :fordbang:

Also, You should grab the (TC Grooved) Window Trim Piece/s~Those are always in demand.
