Title: New guy from Philly
Post by: ThePrimerSuspect on December 15, 2009, 11:11:54 AM
been lurking here for a little bit. just figured i would introduce myself. i have owned several cougars, but i had 2 88 xr7s. first one i got handed down to me at 16.i loved it, but i never really appreciated it. so i bought another one when i was 21. swapped an HO from a 92 LSC, T5 conversion, 5 lug swap with chrome cobra r's, and TC hood. drove it like that for 4 years and i just pulled the motor for a 351 lightning swap and picked up a fiberglass cowl hood. let me know what ya think

i got it from a high school friends mom. had a pretty bad rod knock and the trans had no overdrive. but it only has 87k original miles.

Nice XR7...those '03 Cobra wheels look good on there.  Look to be 17x10 on the rear?  You need to drop it a little and it will really be looking tough.  So its getting a 351?

Yo!  Welcome.  Your Coug looks really good.  I grew up in Philly, many many years ago - Juniata Park.  Graduated from Frankford.  I drove my t-bird to Frankford's Senior prom when it was brand new (that should give you some idea of just how friggin' old I am). The family is all still there and I still drive up almost every weekend.  My brother is Philly PD in the 15th.  Go Eagles!!!

theyre 18x10 rear and 18x8 or 9 in the front. and i got a deal i couldnt pass up on the 351 (basically free after i sold the 5.0). im determined to keep this different, thats why i dont have a mustang lol.

UNFORTUNATELY those pics are like 2 years old. its not really in any shape for pictures anymore lol. but as soon as the project officially begins ill post pics of progress. its just tough with a new baby and a new job and trying to buy a house, so be patient guys! it will happen someday though.
Title: 1984 Cougar Project Car
Post by: spraygood on January 09, 2010, 09:07:05 PM
I just acquired my grandfathers black 1984 Cougar. Everything is original at the moment and in decent condition. This one came with a 302. I am looking forward to restoring this car! I always enjoyed driving it when I was younger. It needs some power though! The 302 is getting an overhaul!

Does anyone know a good source for Cougar parts?

:burnout:
