Post by: Camertbird on December 07, 2009, 01:01:50 PM
Popular Hot Rodding Magazine recently published the results for their 2009 Photo Contest. Proudly, two fox thunderbirds made the magazine. The issue is January 2010 and is on newstands now. The first tbird is on page 30 and belongs to Paul Owens of Philadelphia, PA. The second is my car and is on page 65.
Check them out!

Very cool, but 14.6 with 300hp????  i was running 13.9's with 200RWHP in my '88 XR-7 with stock 3.08 gears...  Either you are full of  on the HP figure, or you gotta learn how to drive LOL

Im glad that guys getting 60hp more out of a 306 ford than the camaro guy is getting with a 383 sbc. And way more power per cube than the chevelle guy.

Very cool and congratulations, getting your ride in a national publication is quite an honor. I was actually gonna let my subscription expire because they are putting too many cars in there with DUB wheels.Glad that i renewed now. Once again CONGRATULATIONS.

Hey guys, I wasn't trying to BS the write up, the best I could figure was that I was making 300 HP at the crank (225 HP to the wheels). Not sure how 1WLD BRD was able to go that fast with only 200 RWHP? I have weighed my car and it weights 3550 lbs with me in it.
This is the website that I used to calculate the number http://www.race-cars.net/calculators/et_calculator.html.
1WLD BRD, did you have your car on a chassis dyno? I'm always open to new ideas to make the car faster, so if you have any ideas, send them along.
Glad everyone liked the pictures. There are lots of nice cars in the entire issue, check it out.

Yes I did dyno it, would you like to see the graph?  ah hell I will just post it anyways:  I dynoed it twice in two years just for the hell of it.

My first run I put out the same power, but 255lbs ft of torque....
The car was running way rich, and it has always had that issue since I did the HO conversion...  you can hear it bonce off the rev limiter twice. LOL..  that was two days after I did the HO conversion...  I was cringing like crazy hoping I tightened everything right. LMAO
You MIGHT have 180hp at the wheels but I doubt it, if you are using the factory heads.  you need to upgrade to E7's and a better cam or a set if aluminium ones to get better power out of it.

My best run is right there  \/ in my sig

actually looking at your MPH, the power IS there...  you just cant drive LOL.

with that MPH you should be running around a 14.2, which is what I ran for a time at that MPH.  So yeah you might have around 200 at the wheels.
